The Certificate in Visual Art, Craft and Design (Level 2) will equip participants with basic skills to; make two dimensional works in basic print making, textile and painting techniques using specific tools and materials; produce drawings using perspective, shading, negative space and line quality with specific materials exploring surface, structure and feeling; design and make simple three dimensional objects and craft jewelery in specific materials demonstrating basic knowledge of proportion; perform basic numeracy and communication skills in a business environment, as well as demonstrate knowledge of running a small business.
The qualification will provide opportunities for developing a wide range of skills in Visual Art, Crafts making and design and provide articulation pathways for graduates to higher level qualifications, as well as entry level employment and self-employment opportunities in the Visual Arts, Craft and design industry in Namibia. Minimum admission to the course leading to this qualification will be based on completion of the Junior Secondary phase (Grade 9) of the revised Namibian school curriculum.
